Hundreds of medigap insurance companies have grown up all over United States. Now, what does a private medigap insurance company really do? Nearly each and every person has got health insurance from some state or country level government services. But, these government services often leave gaps in their policies, so to fulfill these gaps people purchase Medicare supplemental plans from the private insurance companies. These private health insurance plans costs a lot more than the govt. provided plans. But, people go for these just because the services of these companies are much better. The agents are always very helpful, they arrange for all the formalities that are required for purchasing the Medicare plans.

There are 12 Medicare supplemental plans, named from A-L, are available in all over United States. The plans (A, B, C to L) are equal for all companies, as these plan details are set by the govt. of United States. Each plan has its own specialty and benefits for the recipients. These plans are meant for a single person only. Recipient’s family members are not paid, as they do not fall under the policy. However, there some rules a person has to follow; he or she cannot purchase Supplemental Medicare Insurance Plans if that person does not have Medicare Part-A or Medicare Part-B. Owning these two policies can only allow them to purchase the Medigap insurance.
